Yes, you can! Customers rarely choose this option, because it is much more expensive (usually around $60 extra, depending on the size of the case).
I don't keep threaded rails in stock, so please contact me for a quote before placing your order if you are interested in this.
You can always source or make your own threaded rails as well. They will work with Ichthys Modular cases provided they are less than 5.8 mm wide, and 2.5 mm thick.
Ichthys Modular cases are made of a PLA/PBT, which is a type of strong plastic. They have been designed and tested to withstand significant force and impact, but are likely not as strong as cases made with from tougher materials, such as aluminum.
Ichthys Modular cases are fine to use in a backpack, provided proper protection (such as a top cover) is used to protect the modules themselves.
Ichthys Modular cases are made with a non-toxic blend of PLA and PBT, which is safe to use without overheating up to 122 °F (50 °C).
In other words, this case should be able to stand up to any conditions you would normally subject your modules to. (It's a bad idea to leave either a case or modules in a car on a hot day).
Please note that some modules, such as the Tiptop Audio uZeus, specifically warn that they are only to be used with metal rails. Do not use such modules in Ichthys Modular cases. Always check and follow the best practices of module manufacturers.
For cost, we recommend the Behringer CP1-A. However, the CP1-A is fairly deep, and deeper power modules will take up more space, reducing depth for main modules (see photo).
A good alternative is the 4ms Row Power. Not only does it take less space, but the DC inputs of the modules can be chained across rows and cases.
Panels always come with 2 nuts so a module can be mounted in the slot.
Rail sections and cases come with 1 square nut for each 4 HP on each rail.
For instance: a 3u, 36HP case comes with 18 square nuts for mounting modules on the top rails. A 4u, 72HP case comes with 72 nuts.
